FOHRA Hosts Speaker Mr. Steve Stanford at Goose Meadow

FOHRA Ford 150th Dick Russell Intro to Speaker - DSC_2018_HDR On a beautiful day in the park, Saturday, June 8, the Friends of Highland Recreation Area hosted Mr. Steve Stanford, Ford family historical speaker, as he presented “From Roots to Branches”, a special story of the family life of Henry Ford. The speaking event was held under the Goose Meadow pavilion, formerly the area location of Edsel and Eleanor Ford’s family horse riding track in their grand country estate of Haven Hill in Highland/White Lake, Michigan. The event was one of many to be held in 2013 around the Detroit area in celebration of the Henry Ford’s 150th birthday and coordinated by the MotorCities organization.

Goose Meadow will also be the site of the 2013 Haven Hill Festival on August 24th. Bring your family to Highland State Recreation Area for food, music, history, and 1860's base ball on August 24th.
