What caused the recent resurgence of the electric car? Who are some of the early as well as recent pioneers who developed electric cars? Who are the major electric car manufacturers today?

Hear about the early efforts by Henry Ford and Thomas Edison to develop an electric car. See how important the Detroit Electric company was in the early success of electric vehicles.​

Find out about the plans that major automotive manufacturers have for the growth of electric vehicles. See how the greater Detroit area is contributing heavily to this growth. Learn about self-driving electric vehicles, and how they are becoming a reality.  Russ is a Board member of the MotorCities National Heritage Area, a member of the Northville Historical Society and a member of the Henry Ford Heritage Association. He holds Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral Degrees in the social sciences from Michigan State University and the University of Washington.
