Redbud Reveal at Highland State Recreation Area - Saturday, May 9
/The Friends of Highland Recreation Area are proud to announce the annual Redbud Reveal, a spring season-opening outdoor event at Highland State Recreation Area in Highland/White Lake, Michigan. The month of May is often the time of the beautiful blooming of the redbud trees in the Haven Hill section of the park, a truly gorgeous sign of spring for many Michiganders!
Come and see the beautiful Haven Hill section of the Highland State Recreation Area including the Cedar Creek Trail, Edsel and Eleanor Ford’s historic Gatehouse, Barn, Carriage House, and the Lodge footprint up on Haven Hill. The Haven Hill Gatehouse garage will be open and informational videos and Haven Hill displays will be shown throughout the day.
Cupola Renovation Unveiling - Light refreshments and snacks will be served to guests attending the 2020 season-opening speech by the Friends group President at the Haven Hill Gatehouse at 1:00 pm. A special unveiling of the newly-renovated Gatehouse Cupola will be performed for the public.
